Financial Planning Year End 2013
As originally enacted, the Pension Protection Act of 2006 allowed for an exclusion from gross income of up to $100,000 per IRA owner per year from a traditional IRA or Roth IRA for a “qualified charitable distribution” made during 2006 and 2007 by an IRA owner who has attained age 70½ on the date of distribution. As a result of the extension of this provision, an IRA owner who has attained age 70½ is allowed to make a tax-free distribution from a traditional IRA or a Roth IRA on or before December 31, 2013 to organizations that qualify under §170(b)(1)(A) i.e., a public charity. If you are age 70 ½ and want to help the camp and have an IRA account, this may be something to consider with your financial advisor.
While the Charitable IRA rollover is for senior donors, there are wonderful opportunities for all to help camp! Many generous givers are needed here at year-end. See more information by clicking on the link provided here: Financial Planning Details
