OUR BELIEFS - MARRIAGE, GENDER, AND SEXUALITY

  1. Every person must be treated with compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity.  Being hateful or harassing is to be repudiated and this type of behavior or attitude is not in accordance with Scripture or the values of Camp Manatawny.  (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31)

  2. God created us as male or female persons, and that these genders together reflect the image and nature of God.  (Gen. 1:26-27)

  3. All staff and campers will behave and conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with their biological gender.  This includes but is not limited to the restrooms they use and the clothing they wear.

  4. The term “marriage” is only meant and intended to be the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.  (Gen. 2:18-25)

  5. God has commanded us to refrain from sexual activity outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.  (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4)

  6. Any form of sexual immorality (including pornography, adultery, fornication, homosexual or bisexual behavior, bestiality (Romans 1) or incest) is sinful and offensive to God.  (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
